Fatal Mistakes

I haven't been worried or depressed in 4 years 5 months and 29 days.  I know this may sound strange to some people, but it is the truth.  My pastor would say, "I haven't been worried or depressed in.................days", and before I was set free from depression, it sounded strange to me.  Now, since I have been walking in it, it's not strange, and there is no reason to go back now, I am going to stay free until I go to be with Jesus or he comes and gets me.

Sometimes I wish I could just shake some people as hard as I can and scream, "WAKE UP, JESUS IS YOUR ANSWER!!!!"  The problem is, most people don't want to hear what Jesus has to say, they would rather get in what they think, what they feel, what their opinion is, what someone else said, or what they believe.  Well I have news for you, only Jesus has the right answer.

I was reading in Jeremiah in Chapter 42 where the children of Israel inquired of the prophet Jeremiah saying in verse 3 "Pray that the Lord your God will tell us where we should go and what we should do."  Then when Jeremiah told them he would inquire of the Lord, they said in verse 5, "May the Lord be a true and faithful witness against us if we do not act in accordance with everything the Lord your God sends you to tell us.  Whether it is favorable or unfavorable, we will obey the Lord our God, to whom we are sending you, so that it will go well with us, for we will obey the Lord our God."

Ten days after they asked Jeremiah to seek the Lord for them, he answered and told him what to tell the people.  The Lord told them exactly what to do.  He told them to stay in the Land of Judah, and to not go to Egypt (short version).  After giving them exactly what to do, and exactly what not to do, the children of Israel, in fear of the King of Babylon, decided to go to Egypt and disobey God.   In verse 19 Jeremiah by the Lord said "Remnant of Judah, the Lord has told you, "Do not go to Egypt."  Be sure of this:  I warn you today that you made a fatal mistake when you sent me to the Lord your God and said, "Pray to the Lord our God for us; tell us everything he says and we will do it."  then he said, "but you still have not obeyed the Lord your God in all he sent me to tell you."

God has not changed today in Jesus.  Jesus said in John 14:15, "If you love me, keep my commandments."   Jesus commanded us in John 15:12 "That you love one another, as I have loved you." or you could say it this way, "That you forgive one another, as I have forgiven you."  These words are just as important to obey than the words God spoke to the children of Israel in the old testament, and you make a fatal mistake when you do not obey them.  In John 3:18 you see why it is fatal, He said, "He that believeth on him (with action to obey) is not condemned but he that believeth not (with action to obey) is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name (Character and Authority) of the only begotten Son of God."  The Holy Ghost confirms this in Hebrews 2:2-3 "For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward.  How shall WE ESCAPE, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be SPOKEN by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;"

So you see their salvation by the word was to obey what the Lord said do.  It is the same today, that we do what the Lord commanded us, We believe that Jesus loved us (by looking at the cross), and then live that same love to others. 1 John 3:23.  I encourage you believers out there, that you do not let the enemy deceive you in thinking you have the right to be in unforgiveness toward anyone.  Remember Jesus said in Mark 11: 26  "But if you do not forgive, neither will your father which is in heaven forgive you."  If you have unforgiveness in your heart, repent and tell the Lord you are sorry and ask him to change you,   DON'T MAKE THE FATAL MISTAKE OF UNFORGIVENESS, and the Lord will bless you.

Trading Places

My pastor taught a series called "Trading Places", and the Word in this series opened my spiritual eyes and set me free from unbelief and depression.  I had never known Jesus as the one with "No Sin."  I knew he did not sin, but I didn't KNOW HIM as the one WITH NO SIN.  What do I mean by this?  He's perfect, He never missed it, He lived 33.. years on this earth without saying anything amiss, never once got anything wrong, and I never let Him show me how to overcome problems or sin or tell me what to do to overcome it, by HIS WORD.  I kept getting in the way with statements like, "Well, everybody's gonna sin!" and "Nobody's perfect."  Not realizing these were just excuses for me to stay in darkness, because there was one, perfect and without sin, the man Jesus Christ.  1 John 3:5-7 : "And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is NO SIN.  Whosoever abideth in Him sinneth not:  whosoever sinneth hath not seen Him, neither known Him."
The Lord opened my eyes to see, that if I would abide in Jesus, I could also walk without sin.  What was I going to abide in?  How?  What is this talking about?  What do you mean?  This kills all I have ever been taught......what?  These words in 1 John 3 stood out at me.  "TAKE AWAY OUR SINS."  Most people who say they accept Jesus, including myself at one time, never really believe that they have been forgiven (acquitted), without any remembrance to the offence or ability to bring it up again, of everything.  Jesus took our sins away, meaning they can no longer drive me, no longer whip me to obey them, no longer defeat me, no longer hang around.  And until you get forgiven you will never see this.  I was a believer, locked up because of my past, not even able to share Jesus correctly because I has a big plank in my eye, trying to pull out the speck in theirs.  I lived in misery, depressed and angry, frustrated, irritated and wanted to give up.
Did you ever notice Jesus said in John 8:31-32, "If you CONTINUE in MY WORD, then are you my disciples indeed; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."  Well, here is what I did, I continued in, I am forgiven of everything and he took my sins away.  When the thoughts would come about past sins and depression tried to sit on me, I would continue in saying this, "Nope Jesus forgave me of that and He took that away."  In other words, I let Jesus become my sin, and I took His forgiveness.  In 2 Corinthians 5:21 it says, "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew NO SIN; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."  I started Trading Places with Jesus, I let him become everything that was wrong with me, my past or anything, and I took or started becoming his way of doing and being right, which was, "He took my sins away", or "He forgave me of that and forgot it, so I didn't remember it either."
Let Jesus become what you have done wrong, so you can become what he is, it is a gift.  Jesus was a righteous man with NO SIN, who became sin.  We WERE no good sinners, who Jesus MADE righteous, not by any works of our own, but by His work on the cross and the shed blood at Calvary.  Glory to God!  Thank you Jesus.  Praise the Lord.

Hearing Jesus

A woman was going into a gas station the other day and when I saw her the Lord immediately spoke to me and said, "Pray with her."  Well, I went in to use the restroom and when I had finished, she was already out at the gas pump, so I proceeded to her car.  I said to her, "Ma'am, have you been praying about something?"  She said, "I have."  Looked at me kind of funny and then ask, "Why do you ask?" I then explained what happened when I saw her going in the store and how the Lord had told me to pray with her.

She consented, and I began to question her to find out what we were going to pray about.  As I dug deeper, she filled me in on her morning.   She had attended a church, and during an alter call, she felt the Lord drawing her to come up and surrender, but fear overtook her and she did not go.  Oh, isn't the Lord's mercy wonderful!

I prayed with her, and cast the devil out of her and she got blasted by the Holy Ghost!  There was  such an awesome presence of the Lord, and His peace just took over her mind!  It was glorious!

At this point, the Lord spoke again and told me to fill her with the Holy Spirit.  After showing her in the word where Christians can receive the Holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in tongues (Acts 2:4, Romans 8:26-27),  I laid my hands on her and commanded her to be filled with the spirit, and she was, and took off speaking in tongues.  God is so wonderful.

Here is what I wanted to get too.  This woman, somewhere in our conversation said that she wanted to change, she was pregnant and going to have a child and she knew she needed to change.  But I knew this, unless this woman accepted the Lord Jesus into her heart and completely surrendered to Him, she would have never changed.  She may have changed for a while in her own strength, but would have drawn back into all the hell and misery out in the world that she had been in.  Only Jesus can make you a new creature.  His grace and love is the only remedy for any change in the hearts of men.  She told me that she was going to try to do right and get better.  I told her that she could never do it on her own, but if she accepted Jesus and his spirit and presence into her heart, she would have something in her to lead and guide her into a newness of life, and would not have to try anything, but just obey the working in her spirit and Jesus would change her life for her.

You know religious people make what Jesus did hard.  Not for me and some other believers I know, but for themselves and other spiritual babies.  Jesus simply want's us to hear Him, believe and speak what He says and then do what He says, that's it.  When people learn to walk in that, they will find out, like I have, that Jesus is right and should never be questioned, just do what He says.  In John 2:5, Mary made the greatest faith statement in the bible, "Whatever He (Jesus) says, do it."

I challenge anyone who is a Christian and reads this to obey the inward voice of Jesus.  Anytime you hear him speak, obey immediately with joy and watch your life change.  If you say you don't know how to hear Jesus, you need to get saved, because Jesus said, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me."  I know when Jesus speaks to me, as I know when my mother or father speaks to me, I know their voice.  Well, if you have encountered Jesus before, then you know His voice.  If you have questions, pray the prayer of salvation, and surrender you heart and will to Jesus.  Then, you will begin to hear His voice.

Prayer of salvation and surrender:  Lord Jesus, I believe you are the true son of God.  God sent you on this earth to die for me and take away my sins.  I believe you died, and on the third day, God's mighty power, raised you from the dead.  I repent of not believing in you.  I confess you as my Lord and master from this point forward.  I turn from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to God's power.  I surrender every area of my heart and will to serve you and do what you say.  I forgive everyone who has offended me, and I receive forgiveness for all that I have done.  Come into my heart Lord Jesus and change me, and speak to me, so I will never be the same.  In Jesus name, Amen.

The Truth in Love

Have you ever ran into religious people who are really going through it?  You know those people who are always having a hard time with life, how they used to act is hanging around them like a bad odor, and they can't seem to get forgiven of it.  They are doing the best they can, which is never good enough.  They don't know which way to go, they are sick, broke, bound and surrounded by the cares of this life.  They have a form of Godliness, but deny God's power to do anything about it.  They are trying to establish their own righteousness, aka (the best they can).  They really love their darkness more than the light, and if they would get honest, He would set them free.  I know, I used to be one of them.  I pray for mercy for them and that the Lord would find them, like He found me, and set them free.
If they could only meet the Jesus I serve.  You see, I serve Jesus Christ the Messiah, the son of the living God, the one who forgives all my sins, and heals every sickness.  The one who lived on this earth without sin (Mr. Perfect Jesus) and can show me how to do it too.  He redeems my life from destruction (curse of poverty, debt, lack, depression, anxiety), and crowns me with loving kindness and tender mercies.  He satisfies my mouth with good things, so my youth is renewed like the eagles.  He set me apart.  He made me a Holy Nation, a peculiar people, He delivered me from the control and dominion of Satan, and transferred me into the kingdom of the son of his love.  He took down the middle wall of partition, and made my nigh by His blood.  He gave me every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, and strengthened me with might by His spirit in my inner man, this same spirit raised Jesus from the dead.  Who can be against me?  Who can be my foe?  He disarmed principalities and powers, and made a show of them openly.  He triumphed over them in it and set a liberty them that are bruised.  He healed the broken hearted, and delivered the captives.  He said, "Go and sin no more."  Jesus died and suffered our punishment, to give us His life.  He descended to the deepest place and ascended to the highest of highs, so no matter where you are, He can find you, there is no place that He has not been and He can reach you.  His hand is always outstretched before you, just grab it.  Let him take the heavy burdens of this life and give you his easy yoke and light burdens. "Come to me," Jesus said, "All who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

The Rock

In 2010, I was at the Global Leadership Summit in Chicago at Willow Creek Communtity Church, and something happened there that shook me.  I was staying in a hotel with my Pastor from a church that I used to attend, and as usual, back then I was trying to go to sleep, but, the enemy kept attacking my mind with crazy thoughts.  Finally I got tired of the thoughts and told the devil, "Look, you may have knocked me down, but I am built of a good foundation, and I will get back up."  As soon as I finished saying that, I heard something say to me, "I never said that in My word."  Startled, I said, "What?"  I heard again, "I never said that in my word."  Again, I said, "What?"  then, I heard this, "Turn your bible to Matthew, Chapter 7 and read."  So I began to read and came to verses 24-27 which read, "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and DOETH THEM, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon the house and it FELL NOT: for it was founded upon a rock.  And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and DOETH THEM NOT, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house on sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and IT FELL: and great was the fall of it."  After I read this I said, "What are you saying Lord?" and He said to me, "You have always been built on sand."  I thought man that is tough Lord, but it was the TRUTH, you see Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Life, and no one can come to the Father but by Him.  I had never continually came to him to hear Him say something, and then do it.  If you look at the beginning of verse 24 in Matthew 7, what he is saying is the rock.  Whosoever heareth His words and DO THEM.  This is the rock that Jesus spoke of in these verses, Luke also records this in Luke 6:46-49.

Cross Kind of Love

Jesus teaching me how to love my wife is one of the greatest things that has happened to me.  Paul mentioned by the holy ghost that if a man did not know how to keep his own family, what good would he be in the church.  The family is one of the first places that Jesus starts ministering His love, because if you can live His love at home, you should be able to live His love anywhere.  Praise the Lord.
My dad in the faith, Pastor Robert Scales, has some of the greatest revelation on love than anyone I have ever heard.  He told us that "God is Love and Love is Jesus on the cross".  Think about that for a moment, let it sink deep into your spirit as you read about some of the most astounding words that Jesus said to me about His love.  One day the Lord asked me, "Do you think I FELT like loving people when I was on the cross?"  I said, "You couldn't have, Lord."  He said, "I didn't FEEL like loving anybody, I was in pain, but what did I give the people?"  I said, "You forgave them."  He said, " I gave them the Father's love."  Then He said, "Next time you feel like your wife, or someone is putting you on the cross (in how they treat you), I want you to only give them my love and forgiveness."  This absolutely blew my mind.  Everybody is always seeking the Lord on how to love people, well just look at the cross.  When they treat you wrong and it feels terrible, just don't let your feelings get in the way, just give them His love and kick how you feel out the window, because how you feel doesn't matter to Jesus one bit, He only want's you to live His love out.
The new commandment (John 15:12) is the most important part of my life, and I choose to walk in His love no matter what anyone else does.  I pray that whoever reads this blog will come into a deeper and more meaningful relationship with Jesus and His love for us and others.  Be blessed in Jesus name.

Jesus is Greater!

I remember one night before I was set free from fear and worry, I had heart trouble and had been in the ER many times, was cardioverted twice (shocked back in rhythm), thought I was going to die everyday for years, and was on all kinds of medication. This night, I was laying down, being tormented when something came in my room, I could not see it, but the presence in the room was sickening. All of a sudden, I felt something wrap around my bones and then my heart felt as if it would stop. I could not move, I tried to get my wife's attention, but had no strength to do it. I pushed up a little, but it took every ounce of energy inside to do it. I finally just said, "Well Lord, I guess it is just my time to go."
The next thing I knew, something else flew in my room, but this time their was a presence of power and love with it. Something grabbed the thing that wrapped around my body and pulled him off and carried him out of the room. I know now it was an angel, but at that time, I was in too much darkness to even understand why the Lord would save me from this situation. I laid there and cried and said, "Lord, why did you save me?"
You see, I had been decieved by the enemy that I had blasphemed the Holy Ghost. It's funny, my pastor said to me one day when I had mentioned to him that I thought I had blasphemed the Holy Ghost, He said, "Well, do you ever get convicted?" I said, "Well no" He said, "Do you ever feel bad about anything, when you do something wrong?" I said, "All the time." I still didn't get it, I was so deceived, you see if a person does not have the Holy Spirit, they would not feel bad about anything,  But, on March 13, 2011 I was sitting in a church service, and the Holy Ghost and power decended upon me and I have been free from those things ever since, Glory to God. I will never go back to doubt and unbelief that Jesus loves me, I am convinced that nothing will ever seperate me from His love. My pastor always says, "You can never mess up Jesus love, but His love, if you let it, can mess you up." This is so true, I had the hardest time forgiving myself when I messed up, but Jesus, once I confessed it, He couldn't remember it.  Since March 13th, I haven't remembered anything that I have done either, am I greater than God, if He doesn't remember it, I definately am not going to remember it.  Jesus is Greater!
